Interior designer is similar to interior decorator. An interior designer is more advanced than the decorator because this person knows architecture and can recommend that the layout of the house be changed. For example, they might say knock out a few walls and create an open kitchen or add an extra room, etc. An interior decorator basically chooses paint colors for your walls, furniture to go with it, curtains, etc.
