What exactly is “gender confusion” and is it a symptom of bipolar and/or borderline personality disorder?
BPD-The disorder typically involves unusual levels of instability in mood; black and white thinking, or splitting; chaotic and unstable interpersonal relationships, self-image, identity, and behavior; as well as a disturbance in the individual’s sense of self. In extreme cases, this disturbance in the sense of self can lead to periods of dissociation. Bipolar-Is a condition in which people experience abnormally elevated (manic or hypomanic) and abnormally depressed states for periods of time in a way that interferes with functioning. Gender confusion-Gender identity disorder (GID) is the formal diagnosis used by psychologists and physicians to describe persons who experience significant gender dysphoria (discontent with the biological sex they were born with). It falls under GID.
