What examples of native forests and species can be found at the Park?
American Memorial Park contains a unique wetland ecosystem that represents the largest remaining mangrove forest on Saipan. This wetland complex is critical habitat for two endan-gered bird species, the nightingale reed warbler (Acrocephalus luscinia) and the Mariana moorhen (Gallinula chloropus guami). A candidate genus of landsnails (Partula) is also at risk.
