Expenses for medical care as defined under section 213(d) of the Internal Revenue Code, that are incurred during the Plan Year, are eligible for reimbursement under the Plan. Those expenses include the cost for the "diagnosis, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease or for the purpose of affecting any structure or function of the body." Generally, the expenses must be incurred primarily for the "prevention or alleviation" of a physical or mental defect or illness.
