What expenses can be paid through the Dependent Care Reimbursement Account?
Generally, the expenses incurred for a child under the age of 13 whom you are entitled to claim as a dependent or a spouse or other tax dependent who is physically or mentally incapable of caring for himself or herself are considered eligible dependents. The expenses must have been incurred to enable you to be gainfully employed, and include: a. Child Care centers that care for six or more children, (and meet IRS definition of qualified day care center); b. Care givers for a disabled spouse or dependent who lives with the participant; c. Individual care givers who provider child care in a private residence; d. Nursery Schools; e. Household expenses (Nanny), provided that a portion of these expenses are incurred to ensure a qualifying dependent’s well-being and protection.
