What famous couple has a child who suffers from Kawasaki Syndrome?
Like many people today, I was saddened to hear of 16 year-old Jett Travolta’s passing. It is tragic when a young person dies. Many more died today, too, without the celebrity angle. But we read on, worried about how our children could be taken from us, and trying to assure ourselves that it couldn’t possibly happen because we’ve done what we can to keep our kids safe. Reporters look for a reason that we can then dismiss in our own lives: Oh, thank goodness the tragedy was out of their negligence. I’m so much more vigilant. I wrote about this before, as I recalled news reports surrounding other fatalities. Most of the reports today on Jett Travolta talk of Kawasaki Syndrome as a possible cause for his seizure. Reports also state he hit his head on a bathtub. Kawasaki is linked to heart difficulties, so it may be that he had a heart attack or other condition that caused the fall and/or the seizure. The exact sequence of events has yet to be determined. But the answer will not change the
Jett Travolta, the 16-year-old son of actor John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston, has died. According to Reuters, the teenager passed away at Rand Memorial Hospital in the Bahamas while on vacation with his family for the holidays. There have long been rumors that the often incognito Jett suffered from autism. The Travoltas however, who are devout Scientologists, have always denied those reports, instead maintaining that Jett suffered from Kawasaki Syndrome, a condition which often leads to heart disease later in life. Michael Ossi, an attorney for the family, says Jett suffered a seizure at his family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Jett, who had a history of seizures, was the only son for Travolta and Preston, a former model. The couple also has a daughter, Ella Blue, age 8. He was only a kid.
