What fish can live with balla sharks?
Bala sharks can be put in with anything in the “community fish” portion of the fish area in your local pet store. Typically you don’t want to put them in with cichlids (no Jack Dempseys, Oscars, green terrors etc) or lake fish (we made the mistake of sticking a couple of bala sharks in with a large mouth bass that was just a teensy bit bigger than them…next day we found the bass with one of the bala’s tails sticking out of his mouth!!). Other than that, balas are not aggressive or territorial and can be put with other non aggressive fish such as angel fish, pictus catfish, corey catfish, mollies, tetras, or danios. Just be sure not to put too many fish in your tank! Ask the employees at whatever store you get your fish from how many is ok for a given tank size, and if you are unsure about whether a fish will be ok with other fish, they can tell you that too.
