WHAT FOODS DO PIGEONS EAT?
A. Though primarily grain and seed eaters, pigeons will eat much of what they can get their hands on. This may include litter, manure, insects and any food product humans unwittingly feed them or leave for their access. To some, feeding pigeons has become a form of recreation, a pastime which increases their dependence on humans for survival. Pigeons drink water, as well, and will sometimes obtain their water from snow. Pigeons are litter eaters, and they love to dine scavenger-style. If you or your neighbor feeds pigeons, more pigeons will come. They roost nearby, or on the same property on which they’re getting food.
