You shouldn’t even begin to apologise for weaning onto milk – 5 months is a fantastic amount of time to have breastfed especially if you didn’t enjoy it! I used Farleys with my daughter though my son had a more sensitive stomach and used Cow & Gate (specially for sensitive stomachs) – it was a couple of years ago so I can’t remember the exact name but it was harder to find than the regular milks which made it more awkward. my son didnt like any of them….well so we thought…..it was more about he didnt like the teat on the bottle……my aunt who had a few old fashioned remedies….fixed in 1minute what doctors/nurses and midwives couldnt fix in months…..she told me to put a small ammount of condensed milk with some cooled boiled water….and put that into the bottle let him try it….he drank straight away…….next step was putting in some formula with the condensed milk mixture (babies like sweet things) and then each feed gradually reduce the condensed milk to none……my son was weaned easily that way. A word of warning though, always use cooled boiled water…..and dont give too much condensed milk as it can cause constipation if too much used….and talk to your doctor /nurse about it first.
