In some communities a senior center may have people available to sit for an hour or so while caregivers can run errands. Another option in some cases is a respite care program where people can be dropped off and left with other similar people for a couple hours. Check with your local churches as many of them have societies that will sit for short periods so errands can be run. You can also start with the “Government” pages of your phone book. Call your local human services offices, your crisis lines, your Council on Aging. Don’t stop calling – someone WILL HELP!!
