What freshwater aquarium fish eat algae?

Kissing Gouramis are great tropical aquarium fish that will not only eat up all the algie in the aquarium but also keep the glasses clean as they keep moving along kissing the glasses eating away any algie sticking to the glass. Besides, it is a delight to watch them kissing one another on the lips! An aquarium of mine with only Kissing Gouramis and Angels in them is perhaps the best I have.

Most fish are algae eaters, it’s just that some are better than others at removing it totally.

Plecos are great algae eaters. They are the “sucker mouth” catfish that will stick themselves to the glass and eat the algae. Try the Bristlenose Pleco, as they are known to do great algae-cleaning jobs.
