What gaits can a Saddlebred do?
A Saddlebred can walk, trot, canter and gallop. They can also be taught to do two ‘ambles’ – the rack and the slow gait. Both of these gaits are very smooth to ride and resemble a walk at high speed. Gaited horses can be the only way someone who cannot tolerate the jolting of the trot can continue to enjoy riding.
