What gets kids into underage drinking?
There are many factors that drive kids to drink. Curiosity, personal problems, peer pressure, and just wanting to have a good time. I don’t believe in the “You’re legal to vote and choose your country’s future and die for it at 18, but you’re not mentally mature enough to drink” bs. If alcohol impairs and hurts a developing brain, a shell to the face during battle will do that as well. I’m 19, getting my Doctor of Pharmacy, and I drink socially. I’m responsible about it, and I’ve never blacked out or forgotten the night before. It’s just the matter of fact that you hear more about the stupid kids than the responsible ones. “Teenage drinks responsibly and has never thrown up from drinking” doesn’t make headlines like “Teenage binge drinker throws up in church and drives drunk to school”.
