Start with the dust mites. Replace your pillows with foam rubber ones. Cover the pillow in a plastic case made for helping with dust mites. Wash your pillow cases every three or four days in hot water and add some bleach. Cover your mattress with a mite proof plastic cover. Wash all sheets and blankets once a week with bleach in the hot wash. Make sure your vacuum has a HEPA filter. If you have central heat or air, make sure you use a HEPA filter and change it often. You may want to add a HEPA air filter in your bedroom too. If you can, replace carpets with tile, wood, bamboo or other flooring that won’t collect dust.
