What good or bad experiences have people had with using PayPal website payments pro instead of a regular merchant account?

I have a Paypal account and have thus far had no problems. But I have known many people who have had problems with Paypal. Because of this insight I am neutral to Paypal, it has its positive points and negative points. Although I have not been a direct victim of the Paypal Shenanigans, I respect the fact that it just hasn’t happened to me yet. One point that is painfully clear is that Paypal is not a bank and thus is not regulated as such. Paypal just works with banks to host their financial services leaving compliance to the bank and not to them selves. This is great for Paypal, but sucks for the consumers of the Paypal service since Paypal is not held to the same standards as a bank would be. Paypal can justify arbitrary and ridiculous freezing of an account, long periods of 4-5 days to transfer to your bank account, where a conventional bank would require a court order to hold funds or freeze an account. Bottom line is Paypal holds and controls your money. Banks merely hold your mon
