124th Legislature (elected November 2008) 32 Democrats, 11 Republicans and 1 Unenrolled member from the 123rd Maine House did not run for reelection (of those, 11 Democrats and 1 Republicans ran for the Senate; 15 of the 44 (13 Democrats and 2 Republicans) were prohibited from running again by term limits*); 1 Democratic and 7 Republican incumbents were defeated; 99 members of the 123rd Maine House (57 Democrats, 41 Republicans and 1 Unenrolled member) were reelected. There were 39 non-incumbent Democrats and 13 non-incumbent Republicans elected (4 of the Democrats and 2 of the Republicans have prior legislative service) 123rd Legislature (elected November 2006) 16 Democrats, 21 Republicans and 1 Unenrolled member from the 122nd Maine House did not run for reelection (of those, 3 Democrats and 4 Republicans ran for the Senate; 19 of the 39 (6 Democrats and 13 Republicans) were prohibited from running again by term limits*); 3 Democratic, 11 Republican and 1 Green Independent incumbents
