What happened to the lifestyle of women after WW1/ WWI?

Women’s lives most certainly improved following the war effort. Prior to the war, women were viewed as second class citizens. They were expected to either be pregnant or breast feeding at nearly all times, and when they weren’t doing that, they should be cleaning or cooking or looking after the children whilst the man of the house was the ‘breadwinner’ However, once all of these men disappeared to go to war, women began to take their place in factories etc and people began to realise women did just as good a job as the men did! Therefore when the men came home, their jobs were already filled and the dawn of the new age began :p I suppose you could say that this represented a pay increase with women, as they went from nothing to being paid! Politically speaking, women, also through their efforts during the war, showed they were mature and reasonable and were given the right to vote (US I think it was 1920, UK was 1918, but you may want to verify those) Anyway, yes, it is fair to assume
