What Happened to Tim Russert?

As one who felt strongly that both Mr. Obama and Mr. McCain needed several stiff doses of Tim Russert before election day, I will miss him very much. Russert’s physician, Dr. Michael Newman, quickly released information regarding this tragic sudden death. Mr. Russert was known to have asymptomatic coronary artery disease (CAD), as well as obesity and diabetes. He was receiving medical treatment for his CAD, and had a negative stress test as recently as April 29. Nonetheless, an autopsy on Friday revealed that he had suffered an acute thrombosis (blood clot) that rapidly occluded a major coronary artery, leading to a sudden heart attack and subsequently sudden death.
