What happens at the FLL competition?
The competition has two parts, the robotic competition and the presentation of the research assignment. At the robotic competition, two teams will be matched against one another on two playing fields that are joined back to back. Each team s robot will maneuver through the playing field to perform tasks selected from a mission list. Each match will last approximately 2-1/2 minutes and there are usually 3 rounds in a tournament. Points will be awarded to tasks that were completed successfully. For the presentation, each team will pick a research assignment that is related to the mission to help the team understand more fully why each mission is represented and its significance to the real work bring conducted by scientists around the world.
