What Happens if a Person is in a Collision and They Don’t Have any Automobile Insurance?
In Oregon, every driver is basically required to carry automobile insurance. If a person breaks that law, there are many consequences besides a ticket and a potential fine. If an uninsured driver causes a collision, that driver’s personal assets may be at risk to cover the losses of anyone who was hurt. If the uninsured driver was not at fault, they won’t have any coverage of their own for medical bills and wage losses that insurance normally can provide.
