What happens if an RE resigns?
Should an RE resign from the company/EngD programme within the first year the Centre has 8 months to replace them. If the date of resignation coincides with the annual recruitment the company may select current applicants to take over the project. Alternatively if the company has an internal candidate who they wish to second onto the EngD then this is acceptable, subject to an interview at the University. Companies should ensure that they have all paperwork relating to the project in their possession when the RE leaves. This will enable a replacement to continue work on the project.
