What happens if I choose a higher fee with Tutoring Match referrals than the fee I charge with my private clients? Should I consider having my maximum fee be equal to what I offer my private clients?

If you have your own tutoring business, or meet clients privately outside of TM, you most likely have your own fee schedule. We suggest that your TM charge should not be significantly different from your private practice. We have found that a TM Charge works best when it is close to the fee a tutor has with his or her private tutees. Parents are comparative shoppers and quickly become aware of your rates. When parents see disparate fees, they may feel we may be taking advantage of them. Our service can be undermined if parents discover that tutors charge significantly lower fees in their private practice. For example, if you charge $40 for your private practice, you might consider charging around $40 for your TM clients. While this makes your take-home share $32, it insures that you will attract an equal share of clients from us. This means that if parents discover that tutors charge significantly lower fees in their private practice, our service is compromised.
