What happens if I defrost a meal, but don’t cook it right away?
Our vacuum-sealed trays are designed to retain the natural flavor, texture, and nutrients of our food, and are also designed to seal-in freshness. If you prefer, you can choose to defrost your meals at least 24 hours before you eat them, or keep them frozen. De-thawing your meals a day before you eat them might be a better option if you want to cut back on preparation time. Our meals do contain fresh ingredients, and are not shelf stable. If you choose to de-frost your meals, the maximum time you should de-frost your meals before you heat them is 48 hours. If you choose to leave your meals defrosted for longer than this, some of the food may not taste as fresh when it is heated. Either way, when the trays are heated, your food will always taste fresh and delicious. When you are ready to eat, just follow the appropriate cooking directions specified on your tray for frozen or de-thawed meals.
