What happens if I miss my instalment due date?
If your land tax assessment notice does not include an instalment amount, payment must be made in full by the due date. If your land tax assessment notice includes an instalment amount, you can either: • pay the amount in full as indicated on the assessment notice, or • pay in 4 equal instalments over 37 weeks. (Payment by instalments only applies for total liability in excess of $250) • 1st instalment is due within 4 weeks of the issue date of the assessment. • 2nd instalment is due 15 weeks from issue date of the assessment (please note that if not paying by instalments, this will also be the due date for the total amount). • 3rd instalment is due 26 weeks from issue date. • 4th instalment is due 37 weeks from issue date. • If this option is chosen, payment of the first, second AND third instalments must be paid by the respective due dates shown on the assessment.
