What happens if I mistakenly take some of my neighbours cattle to slaughter?

If you muster cattle for slaughter and find a number of your neighbour’s NLIS-tagged cattle with them, if your neighbour agrees, these can be sold together with separate NVD/waybills. If the NVD/waybill being used for your neighbour’s cattle is yours, these cattle should be read and transferred to your property identification code (PIC) prior to sale to ensure lifetime traceability status is maintained.
