What happens if Ofsted are critical of plans that DfES Education Advisers have supported at the development stage, and the Secretary of State has approved?
Without compromising the respective roles of the Secretary of State and Ofsted it is envisaged that DfES and Ofsted will have the opportunity to discuss their assessment of EDP2s before the Secretary of State’s decision is made, and that the Secretary of State’s decisions will be accompanied by comments that included and take account of Ofsted’s views.
