What happens in each organ of the digestive system?

hey there there are 5 stages to digestion ingetsion/digestion/absorbtion/assimil… ingestion/ starts in the mouth the teeth crush and mash food creating a larger surface area for your salivary amylase to work digestion/from the mouth the food goes to the stomach the stomach is highly acidic this acid breaks various bonds in your food and which will allow the food to be better absorbed farther along in process absorbtion/ the food gets futher broken down by digestive enzymes released by the pancreas it now reaches the intestine assimilation/the molecules of food are taken in (assimilated) to the body by the intestine and transported to where they are needed egestion/ waste products (stuff you cant digest and thus cannot derive any nutriment from) such as fibre some fats water etc are excreted from the body hope i helped good luck in your studies
