What happens on a wine train?
The only wine train I have been on is the Napa Valley Wine Train in California. My husband and I arrived for a dinner excursion, which lasted approximately 3 hours. Prior to boarding there was a jazz band, which was fabulous. We looked around the station and made a few souvenir purchases. Once we boarded the train, a beautiful glass domed rail car, we were served a wonderfully prepared dinner, while being treated to gorgeous views of the Napa Valley. We stopped at 2 wineries and enjoyed a little sampling of the local wines. Once we headed back to our station we enjoyed dessert and drinks. The Wine Train offers special family evenings where the children are entertained in a separate rail car with dinner, games and movies, while the parents can enjoy a romantic dinner. The Wine Train also has special events such as a Murder Mystery evening, moonlight excursions, etc. I believe the price for my husband and I was approximately $200 and worth every bit of it.
