What happens to accrued annual leave & comp time if one’s position is cut?

Employees are paid for unused annual leave up to 3 times the annual accrual leave amount. All of the comp time unused is paid out to the exiting employee. Verbiage from the rule: Upon separation from County Service, employees shall receive lump sum payment for all unused annual leave up to a maximum of three (3) times the employee’s annual accrual rate for annual leave. Such payment shall be made at the employee’s regular rate of pay at the time of separation; payment for such leave shall be made in accordance with the Florida Statutes.
