What happens to the results of OIG audits, investigations and reviews?

Generally, results of OIG audits, investigations and reviews are provided to the KHPA Board. (See also FAQ #15: What happens if the OIG finds evidence of fraud, waste, abuse or other illegal acts?) The Board may recess for a closed, executive meeting under the Kansas Open Meetings Act to discuss such information, at the Board’s discretion. In addition, the Inspector General will produce an annual report that summarizes the OIG’s activities during the past year to the KHPA Board, the Governor, several legislative committees, and the Legislative Post Auditor.
