What Happens When a Head on Collision Causes a Vehicle Fire?
The fire can easily kill the driver of that vehicle. A head on collision in Indiana County killed one man and seriously injured at least four more people on Monday June 7, 2010. According to police, Bernard Gress was driving westbound on Route 422 on Monday afternoon when an eastbound car hit his SUV head on. The SUV caught fire and Mr. Gress was unable to escape. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at 2:25 Monday afternoon. His wife, who was a passenger in the car, was flown to Allegheny General Hospital as were others injured in the accident. The cause of the accident is under investigation. It is unclear at this time what caused the eastbound vehicle to cross the center line in this Pennsylvania fatal car accident. We extend our condolences to the Gress family during this difficult time.
