What happens when iron and copper (ii) sulfate react?

0

When Fe and CuSO4 react, iron displaces Cu(II) from copper sulfate, which is blue in colour and gives yellow green FeSO4.(iron or ferrous sulfate) The Cu displaced is red colour forming on iron. The reaction Fe + CuSO4 —> Cu + FeSO4. Remember that iron is more reactive than copper, thus displaces it and CuSO4 must be in solution, since reactive ions are formed then.
