What happens when magnesium oxide is mixed with hydrogen peroxide?
Well manganese dioxide would act as a catalyst for the natural breakdown of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Perhaps magnesium oxide would have the same effect. It is used as a catalyst for other reactions. I couldn’t find the answer for sure though – perhaps you should do the experiment and report back.
