What happens when the alarm goes off?
When your system that is being monitored by DFT Security goes into an alarm mode, it sends a signal to our central monitoring station. This signal tells us the type and / or location of the alarm. Depending on the type of alarm signal, our central station staff will call the premises to determine if there is an emergency, call the proper emergency support officials, and call you to inform you of the situation. The specific procedures are set up when your system is installed, and you have control in this process. DFTs trained Central Station dispatcher will call you to verify the validity of the alarm and will ask for your password. If there is no answer within 3 rings or the correct password is not given, the proper authorities (Police) are immediately notified and dispatched to your premises. The monitoring station will proceed to go through the call list for the premises and try to reach a responsible party. The police, once they have arrived will do a perimeter check of your premise
A trained AEI dispatcher will call your home to verify if you have set the alarm off by mistake and ask for your password. If there is no answer or the correct password is not given, the police are immediately notified. Your control panel is a computer that identifies which door/window or motion detector has triggered the alarm. The police are given accurate information as to where the intrusion took place. AEI then contacts you or a designated friend or relative. All of this data instantly appears when a signal is received. Your alarm will automatically shut off within 12-17 minutes and rearm itself.
