What has changed for the student with the creation of Document Management Services?
In the near term, students will now be able to make document prints, scans, and copies at a wider range of locations using a single card system. Also, students will no longer need to use coins or add value to their NEIU ID cards just to make copies. Additionally, the new fleet of Multi-Function Devices is fully networked and allows students to scan documents to their NEIU email accounts. Over the longer term, students will have online access to their personal printing, copying, and scanning history as well as the ability to set and reset their four-digit PIN needed to access the system. Students will also have access to “wireless” printing for the first time at NEIU. “Wireless” printing allows students to upload a document through a secure website from any computer or handheld device and then release or print that document at a Computer Lab printer or publically accessible Multi-Function Device.
