What has Martha Washington accomplished?
Martha Washington and The Franklin Institute have collaborated on a number of events including Discovery Days and Parental Involvement Days that encourage partnership, collaboration and science learning. Martha Washington was the first school to hold science-themed Parental Involvement Days, an activity later picked up by another PPSS partner school. Martha Washington Events Martha Washington’s Legacy Project Through their work with PPSS, Martha Washington teachers created a Discovery Room in the school as a place where parents, teachers, and students can explore science together. The room, which is Martha Washington’s Legacy Project, has been the site of many of Martha Washington’s school and family events. Housed in a former classroom dedicated entirely to this effort, the Discovery Room is brightly painted with a mural depicting trees, plants, and insects.
