What & how food for baby shower?

It’s actually not in good taste to throw your own baby shower. It’s like saying, “Get me a gift.” Sorry. I think you should rethink it. You can hint around to friends, family, close co-workers, and you never know who might do one, but you just honestly cannot throw your own. It at least has to be hosted by a friend or family member, even if you do everything behind the scenes. It varies from locality and situation whether you “have” to have meat and cheese or veggie trays. I have been to some where it was just cake, mints and punch, others that were a full buffet lunch or hot Maid Rite (also called Tavern, Charley Boy, Loosemeat, Sloppy Joe) sandwiches and chips and dip with the cake. I would have summer sausage, ham and turkey, swiss, cheddar and Colby/Jack for the meat and cheese tray, and broccoli, celery sticks, carrots and cucumbers; and strawberries, grapes, bananas, oranges, kiwi for the fruit/veggie tray if that is what you’re going to do.
