What if I am too strong-willed to be hypnotised?

Hypnosis is a co-operative state between client and therapist and no one can be ‘forced’ into trance. To benefit from hypnotherapy a client must be open to the possibility of change and work with the therapist. One of the reasons that I prefer people to phone/ email me before booking an appointment is that it provides an opportunity to develop a rapport prior to the consultation. Having established this, we can agree to an appointment. It is important that you feel comfortable and secure in the working relationship you have with a therapist, and this includes being able to voice any concerns or worries you may have.
