If your authority becomes aware that a Service Provider from another EU Member State is endangering either the environment or public safety the ‘alert mechanism’ on the IMI system should be used to inform all other Member States where this provider is known to operate. The details of the alert mechanism are currently being established and more detailed information will be provided as soon as it becomes available. Alerts can only be sent in specific circumstances and when a serious risk is posed, so a check list will be provided, and authorities will only be able to send alerts if certain criteria are met.
