What if my dog has never been vaccinated for Bordetella (Kennel Cough)?
The Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccine is available and acceptable in injectable and intranasal forms, and this will depend on your veterinarians preference. It takes 2 days for the Bordetella vaccine to fully protect your puppy/dog, so the vaccination must be given at least 2 days prior to boarding drop-off. Your puppy/dogs FIRST Bordetella vaccination will most likely be intranasal. Keep in mind that if your puppys/dogs INITIAL vaccination is INJECTABLE vaccine, he must get a SECOND vaccination 3 weeks later to ensure proper immunity.
