A computers operating system can become unstable at any time, sometimes due to a virus and sometimes it could be a sign of a hardware problem, or it just decided to cause you a world of trouble. Depending on your level of knowledge (and assuming you keep a backup of all your files, I can't stress this enough) you will have to reinstall using our copy of the operating system you are using. This is not a real difficult process, assuming you know your way around a computer, but it does involve going into the system BIOS and changing the boot order so that the PC will boot from the CD drive. If you are unfamiliar with the BIOS I don't recommend trying to perform this task yourself because within the BIO are many settings that are critical to your PC and it continuing to function. If you are, go in and change the boot order to boot from the CD drive rather than the hard drive and then you follow the directions from there. The typical computer user would most likely want to take it to a professional, especially if you have not backed up your data because they have the ability to try to retrieve it, although this can be expensive.
