What installation methods are available for mounting Bollards?

0

There are two main methods of installing bollards.

1. Embedded or Cored

2. Surface Mounted

Embedded are generally stronger, but it is more costly to install.  For embedded you need to core out the concrete/asphalt and underlying dirt and backfill with concrete.  When hit, these can break the concrete surface.

Surface mounted are usually not that strong, unless they are the rebounding type.  Usually you just drill holes into the concrete and attach using an anchor.  These can pull out when hit if it is just a welded plate bollard.

The various ways to install our bollards can generally be described by the following three mounting methods; 1. Our Standard mounting option is used mainly for applications involving new construction, where new or existing concrete, asphalt or landscaping will be employed. 2. Our Security Anti/Ram mounting option is used for maximum protection against vehicular penetration, or to reduce risk to pedestrians from vehicles. 3. Our Removable mounting option is used when the bollard must be removed easily or frequently (i.e. for emergency vehicle access).
