What is a baked-on ceramic finish?
Ceramic is a very tough material. A new ceramic coating was recently introduced that comes in many colors and holds up well in hard use. It is a two part material that requires a heat cure. Our baked-on finish is much tougher than similar one-part room-temperature coatings. We apply our finish to aluminum parts directly over a prepared military Type 3 hard anodize finish. The anodize provides a good base for the application. We apply our finish directly to our stainless steel bezels after appropriate surface preparation. The ceramic coating is available in many different colors, ranging from desert tans to dark earth tones to lighter grays to several very bright colors including pink and orange.
