What is a base URL?
“URL” has a very wide definition in the context of internet substructure but for Ektron’s purposes we consider a base URL to be the text immediately following the double slash in a web address. Here are some examples. Web Address Base URL http://www.byte.com/documents/s=705/BYT20010608S0001/index3.htm www.byte.com http://builder.cnet.com/webbuilding/0-7255-8-6524824-1.html?tag=st.bl.3880.a builder.cnet.com http://localhost/localstart.asp localhost http://www.address.edu:1234/path/subdir/file.ext Note: We do not consider the port to be part of the URL www.address.
