To make your home made bassinet, purchase a good-sized laundry basket. Go to the fabric store and get a firm piece of foam that is about 4 inches thick. Cut the foam to fit snugly in the bottom of the basket. Cover the foam with a soft towel, tucking the edges under the foam. If you want to dress up your makeshift bassinet up a bit, get a pretty sheet to drape over the basket before you put down the foam.
