What is a beaded edge shield?

0

Beaded edges are only found on “injection molded” windshields. Injection molded shields are often optically distorted but can have built up areas for strength such as attachment points or a thickened area along the edge. This thickened edge is known as a beaded edge. The vast majority of windshields are thermal formed from a flat sheet of plastic. These shield are better optically and have no thickened edges.
