A bed wrap is a wrapper that fits a mattress, completely encasing it. Several types are available, depending on the need of the consumer, but most bed wraps tend to be designed either for bedwetting issues or allergens. In both cases, the bed wrap is made from a material which is not permeable, so that things inside the mattress will not come out, and things outside the mattress will not leak through the bed wrap. Bed wraps are available in a variety of materials, manufactured by a number of companies, which also produce pillow wraps. Bed wraps which are designed for bedwetting are typically made from a water proof material such as plastic or a treated cotton blend. It is important that the mattress be tightly sealed inside the wrap to effectively protect the mattress from absorbing liquid. Thick mattress pads can be put over a bedwetting bed wrap to reduce the crackling sounds that can be caused from shifting. A bed wrap is a type of wrapping in which a mattress is completely encased.  There are several different types of these available.  Depending upon your needs, you should be able to find a bed wrap that suits these needs.  However, you should know that most of them are used for either bedwetting issues or to protect against allergens.  The bed wraps that are used for these reasons will be made from a permeable material so that nothing will come out of your mattress and nothing will leak inside either.  They are also available in a wide range of sizes, most of which are machine washable.  Regardless of your use, this can be a really good investment.

Bed Wraps For Bedwetting

Bed wraps that are used for bedwetting are usually made out of a waterproof material like plastic or a treated blend.  It is a good idea to put a mattress pad over the top of the bed wrap in order to reduce the cracking sound that occurs whenever you shift in the bed.  If the bed becomes soiled, you will only need to wash the sheets and blankets because the mattress will remain dry.

Bed Wraps For Allergen Protection

As mattresses grow older they can become home to a lot of bacteria and dust mites.  While this isn’t a pleasant thought, these unsavory creatures eat our dead skin, hair and body oils.  If you have allergies, this can cause unwanted reactions.  This is why some doctors recommend that allergy sufferers use a bed wrap.  There are even some hypoallergenic bed wraps available today.  These bed wraps can be made from various materials, including specially treated cotton that is meant to prevent organisms from reaching the mattress.  Other materials include plastic and rubber.  They will either seal in your mattress or slip over the top of it, in which case they won’t cover the bottom of your mattress.  Regardless of which style you choose, you will discover that they won’t crackle like those that are used for bedwetting.
