What is a celtic?

Cringe… the term Celtic is a fairly recently coined term and refers mainly to people who follow the mythologies and artistic culture of the British Isles (Scottish, English, Welsh, Irish, the Channel Isles and Breton France)… There are dozens of different types of so-called Celtic Witchcraft – so it is still difficult to point you to any particular group… however, the name that has become commonly used for this is WESTERN MYSTERIES. If you go on msn and yahoo groups, you will find many people of varying ages and backgrounds who are into pagan/wicca that are based on Gardnerean/Alexandrian Witchcraft and Western Mysteries. Good luck… if you want to know more get back to me.

The Celts are an old race of people who inhabited the British Isles before the Romans and subsequently the Angles and Saxons invaded. Over time they were pushed out to the ends of the country (Cornwall, Scotland and Ireland). Celtic people are those traditionally from these areas. Celtic is also the name of a Scottish football club – don’t think they practice much witchcraft though… You’d have to ask Gordon Strachan about that.
