What is a “conditional offer”?

A Conditional Offer is “the call” you will receive by the Mesa Fire Department offering the applicant a position as a Firefighter Recruit. The offer is conditional upon the applicant passing all pre-employment assessments. Pre-employment assessments may include a physical fitness exam, a driving and criminal history inquiry, an FBI background check, etc. An applicant must also, at the time of conditional offer, prove all application and certification requirements like EMT, CPR, High School Diploma/GED, etc. The City of Mesa Fire Department does not have definitive dates as to when conditional offers will be made, so please do not call and ask.

Those students who receive a Conditional Offer are expected to fulfil some requirement in order to be unconditionally accepted at TASMAC. This is a standard practice in higher education and conditions vary with the individual. Usually, however, conditions are related to some incomplete part of the application package. If you are made a Conditional Offer, you would have a guaranteed place at TASMAC provided that you fulfil the conditional mentioned on the conditional offer within the specified time.

A conditional offer means that you will need to fulfil certain conditions before full acceptance onto the programme, e.g. achieving certain English language scores, attending pre-sessional English language courses, completing first degree, etc. The Graduate School is unable to issue unconditional offers unless you have met all the entry requirements.

A conditional offer is made when the applicant is required to fulfil certain conditions before they receive an unconditional offer. For example, applicants may be required to provide certified copies of previous studies or other relevant documentation, or to meet the University’s English language requirements. Once we have received evidence that you have fulfilled these conditions, you will be sent an an unconditional offer.

A conditional offer clearly specifies any conditions that must be satisfied before your place can be confirmed at the University. If you are not a European Union national you will need an unconditional offer before you can apply for your visa.
