What is a D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine)?
Both DOs and MDs are trained in a similar fashion. Both are fully qualified physicians licensed to perform surgery and prescribe medicine in the United States. Both training programs include four years of medical school, one year internship, and 2-7 years of post-medical training in the doctors chosen specialty.
